Billy is a large hound dog native to central and western France. The breed was almost completely lost during World War II and is still considered very rare. It is rarely found outside of France and is used to hunt reindeer and wild boar in packs.
Billy has a very high predatory instinct. The dog is very intelligent and obedient, but is very distracted by the sounds, smells and noises of the outside world and can easily lose concentration.
Billies are not aggressive and love both their own and strangers. However, they are quite disloyal to other pets.
The dog is very smart and sociable, loves to spend time with small children. They are obedient, easy to train and do not doubt their owner’s commands. The dog is delicate, trusting, does not require or impose excessive attention.
Billies are usually kept as hunting dogs. Of course, this animal can also be made into a guard dog, but its genetics do not quite allow for this. Billies are not aggressive and are known to be friendly. To turn a dog into a guard, you will have to make a lot of effort. On the other hand, this dog is considered suitable as a guard dog, since it can announce the entire neighborhood with its barking.
Dogs of this breed are extremely active. They do not like their own kind, so it is enough to have one male or one female in the house. Otherwise they will begin to compete with each other. They can chase birds, cats and small dogs because that is a dog's instinct.
Unusual breeds have many advantages. Among the most notable are devotion, obedience and obedience to the master's commands. Dogs make wonderful friends for children and adults and will take part in any entertainment; they are interested in everything and need everything. You definitely won't be bored with a dog. The animal is delicate, easy to train, does not growl or rush at the owner’s friends.
The maximum security value of a dog is its loud bark. Aggression towards strangers is not a problem, animals do not show aggression and do not chase. Small creatures are another matter. Having noticed the cat, Billy will take off and pursue it until the end or until the owner returns him. The main disadvantage of this breed is that they are not friendly with other animals. If there is a cat in the house, it should be kept in another room or not allowed out of the house at all. In this regard, it is almost impossible to train a dog.
